Job Summary
The Senior Systems Administrator II role involves end-to-end responsibility for our server and storage environments, ensuring their design, implementation, and maintenance align with our business-critical objectives. The ideal candidate will leverage the latest technologies to uphold our commitment to high availability and performance.

  • Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Design and Implementation: Lead the planning, design, and deployment of server and storage solutions across multiple data centers and offices, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Maintenance and Optimization: Oversee the maintenance, monitoring, and optimization of server and storage systems to ensure 99.99% availability, proactively identifying and resolving potential issues.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement and enforce security protocols and compliance standards to safeguard data integrity and system access.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including network, security, and application development, to integrate and support business initiatives.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, recommending and implementing improvements to enhance system performance and efficiency.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, procedures, and processes.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the department.

Travel Requirements

Education Minimum: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree -In Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Preferred Certification- Relevant certifications such as VMware Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect, or CompTIA Server+ are highly regarded.

Experience
Minimum Years of Experience

5+ Years of experience in server and storage engineering, with a proven track record in designing and managing large-scale, high-availability environments.

  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in server hardware and operating systems (Windows, Linux), storage technologies (SAN, NAS), virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V), and cloud services.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving technical challenges.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, managing multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
    Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
  • Ability to sit and/or stand at a desk and work with a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, tools, and to handle other computer components.
  • Occasional inspection of cables in floors and ceilings, including using a ladder.
  • Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects such as computers and peripherals up to 50 lbs.
  • Regular and predictable attendance required.
