Hardware Principal Engineer, Systems Development Engineering, Root Cause Engineering

This senior role requires demonstrated experience and strong technical expertise across the many technologies related to System design, PCB board design, and debug. What you’ll achieve
As a Senior Principal Systems Development Engineer, you will design, define and implement complex system requirements for customers and prepare studies and analyses of existing systems.

You will:

  • Technical leader driving continuous development and enhancements on AI and PE Server Hardware platforms.
  • Enabling other engineers through sharing knowledge / mentoring.
  • Leader who can work with and lead other engineering development and validation functions to debug critical design issues.
  • Design, develop and implement cost effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment.
  • Self-starter capable of managing multiple assignment and activities simultaneously. Work is guided by operational and project objectives.

Essential Requirements

  • X86-architecture based system design and development as well as High speed PCB schematic, layout design.
  • Experience debugging system level issues.
  • Familiarity with Hardware-Software interaction, familiarity with DDR, PCIe, UPI, SAS/SATA protocols and high speed bus interface design.
  • Creating Specifications / Design guides
  • Familiarity with CPLD or FPGA design and debug.

Desirable Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Engineering Degree with 12 to 15 years of related experience
  • Ability to lead, motivate and direct a workgroup
  • Capability to influence others to achieve results

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $167,000.00 - $216,000.00 USD Annual.
