We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director to lead our Cyber Defense & Response and Cyber Fusion Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving a strategic evolution of the BD Cyber Fusion Center, while overseeing Security Operations, threat hunting, incident response (IR), Data Protection, threat intelligence and insider threat management while executing BD’s overall cybersecurity strategy. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and the ability to manage, attract and retain a team of cybersecurity professionals.

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Director to lead our Cyber Defense & Response and Cyber Fusion Center. The ideal candidate will be responsible for driving a strategic evolution of the BD Cyber Fusion Center, while overseeing Security Operations, threat hunting, incident response (IR), Data Protection, threat intelligence and insider threat management while executing BD’s overall cybersecurity strategy. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and the ability to manage, attract and retain a team of cybersecurity professionals.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate as a key member in the Cybersecurity & Digital Risk leadership with Risk Management, Security Architecture, Governance, Awareness, and Compliance teams
  • Lead and manage the Security Operations Center (SoC)
  • Develop mature strategies for communicating threat intelligence to business leaders, functional areas, and strategic partners to inform securing BD
  • Develop and implement threat hunting strategies to proactively identify and mitigate potential security threats
  • Oversee incident response efforts, including investigation, containment, remediation, and post-incident analysis
  • Manage the Cyber Fusion Center, integrating threat intelligence, detection engineering, and threat detection/prevention, security operations, and data security engineering functions to ensure effective monitoring, detection, and response to security incidents and event resolutions
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure the integration of cybersecurity practices into business processes and technology solutions
  • Support development of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and standards to ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices
  • Conduct gap security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements
  • Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, trends, and technologies to continuously enhance the organization's security posture
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and professional development opportunities for the cybersecurity team

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field. A master's degree is preferred
  • Minimum of 12-15+ years of experience in cybersecurity operations and management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role
  • Track record of innovation, executive partnerships, and driving continuous change at cybersecurity and/or enterprise levels
  • Strong knowledge of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies
  • Experience with security tools and technologies such as SIEM, IDS/IPS, endpoint protection, and threat intelligence platforms
  • Proven track record of managing and leading a team of cybersecurity professionals
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable
