DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Principal Solution Architect to join our team specializing in Systems/Information Technology in Columbus, IN.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

- Performance Monitoring : By monitoring architecture solution performance, you'll prevent issues and maintain system reliability when introducing new capabilities.
- Strategic Roadmapping : Collaborating with stakeholders to develop future state architecture roadmaps will align strategy with execution, driving long-term success.
- Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing : Coaching less experienced Solution Architects and maintaining industry relationships will foster a culture of continuous learning and innovation.

- Analyze Functional Fit : Decompose systems into component parts to study their interaction and ensure they meet business, technical, security, governance, and compliance requirements.
- Develop System Solution Architecture : Create solution designs and patterns that align with Cummins standards, maintaining consistency and quality.
- Manage Project Issues and Risks : Identify, assess, and prioritize issues and risks, driving actions to minimize negative impacts and maximize positive outcomes.
- Value Differences : Recognize and appreciate the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to the organization, fostering an inclusive environment.
Education, Licenses, Certifications:
- College, university, or equivalent degree in relevant technical discipline, or relevant equivalent experience required.
- This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.
Experience:
- Significant experience in a relevant discipline area is required with a demonstrated track record of architecture and design for cloud-based platforms.
- Knowledge of the latest trends in emerging technologies is highly preferred and includes:
- Analyzing complex business systems, industry requirements, and governance and creating solution designs from them
- Proven Architecture and design experience for cloud-based platforms
- Significant experiences in the following are preferred:
- Experience with architecting and integrating enterprise systems and data
- Experience in defining and weighing the trade-offs of different solution options
- Experience with IoT technology
- Experience in Agile software development and DevSecOps
QUALIFICATIONS
Additional Experience Needed:
- Experience in data management, analytics, machine learning, solution architecture, GenAI or a related field, with a proven track record of designing and implementing complex analytics solutions.
- Focus on Analytics platforms and Digital Solutions.
Required Technical Skills :
- Expertise in data engineering and integration (API’s etc), data modeling, machine learning model management, MLOPs, DevOps.
- Proficiency in tools and technologies such as SQL, Python or R or Scala.
- Understanding of Hadoop, Spark architecture, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure preferred).
- Ability to implement data security and governance frameworks.
Nice to have:
- Experience in Databricks, Snowflake and Neo4J (In that order of preference)
- Experience in designing cloud solutions using Azure cloud platform.
- Expertise in machine learning frameworks and libraries.
- Strong understanding of algorithms, data structures, and statistical methods.
Additional Key Responsibilities:
- Able to coach junior architects on the team. Guide and drive work aligned with priorities. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to data scientists, data engineers & data analysts fostering best practices in machine learning and software development.
