Summary

Drive core product innovation as an expert in your field. Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Set Product Vision: Accountable for long term vision of a suite of products including multi-year funding strategies tied to business outcomes.

  • Cultivate an understanding of the products.

  • Develop Roadmap: Shared accountability in cross functional strategic roadmaps in addition to the products in their domain.

  • Define and track critical metrics for measure of success.

  • Gather Requirements: Gather higher level, more sophisticated product requirements with a general understanding/knowledge of products in remit.

  • Review and validate requirements gathered within team.

  • Defines Product: Responsible for multiple high complexity products and product features from start to finish.

  • Stakeholdering: Proactive communication and marketing of domain products with stakeholders to ensure product strategy and vision is clear and accepted by the organization.

  • Design Partnership: Where applicable, multi year design vision - Use high level design competence with understanding of the process and facilitation.

  • Feature Prioritization: Develop and maintain prioritized program backlog of user stories for implementation according to business value or return on investment.

  • Data & Customer Research: Advise product decisions with both qualitative and quantitative data on behavior and experimentation.

  • Facilitate Ceremonies: Facilitate the daily Scrums, Sprint Planning Meetings and Sprint Reviews and Retrospectives.

  • Resolution: Identify and resolve issues that may impair the ability to meet strategic, financial, and/or technical goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

  • 9-14 Years of prior experience with at least 9 working in a Product Management Role, with agile team experience.

  • Knowledge Preferred: knowledge of the financial services industry, familiar with BI tools, certification or experience with Product Owner or Scrum Master role, experience in leadership or mentorship of a team, multiple years working in sophisticated, cross functional companies managing multiple products and PMs.

  • Must have demonstrated successful cross functional work in previous experience along with excellent communication, time management, and project management experience, strong eye for business and high self awareness/EQ.

  • Along with previous research experience required, influence skills, previously validated successful leadership partnerships, be an expert in translating product requirements into technical requirements, high ability to work in ambiguity and solution effectively.

  • Ability to proactively identify and solve the most sophisticated problems; use ground-breaking methods to think beyond existing solutions.

Pay Range - Start:

$133,140.00

Pay Range - End:

$247,260.00

Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Please note that the salary range listed in the posting is the standard pay structure. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
