What will you be doing?
The selected candidate will support and manage engineering projects related to revolutionizing the USACE IT infrastructure. This position will define project scope and objectives and develop detailed work plans, schedules, project estimates, status reports and project deliverables for all engineering requests. Collaborates with engineering team, Operations team, and various levels of leadership on engineering projects and tasks. Recommends and takes action to direct the analysis and solutions of problems.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate openly and frankly with all internal and external partners, such as Government Engineers, Contractor Engineers, Contractor Operations staff, Management, and 3rd party vendors
- Ensure timely delivery of all Engineering Service Requests, removing any obstacles to completing work as scheduled
- Perform risk analysis of each Engineering Service Request, and inform all stakeholders of the applicable risks
- Develop, maintain, and execute project plan in support of Engineering Service Requests
- Perform and coordinate project management activities in accordance with the USACE project management team
- Discuss projects at a technical level
- Coordinate with USACE personnel on project deliverables and activities
- Establish project milestones and monitor adherence to project scope, requirements, and schedules
- Coordinate with internal and external organizations by arranging, chairing, and facilitating meetings to establish project requirements and schedules while ensuring these are well understood and achievable
- Support USACE EDSS Team in related activities
- Provide regular status reporting for project activities which is circulated to the key stakeholders. The specific schedule, distribution, and reporting requirements will be defined and agreed as part of the Project Initiation activities
- Review and validate project deliverables to ensure accuracy and timely submission
- Develop and provide briefings to USACE management stakeholders
- Provide meeting minutes documenting action items, milestones, and status
- Report project risks along with risk mitigation recommendations
- Be responsible for day-to-day management of project activities ensuring assigned tasks are completed and that all deliverables are of the highest quality
- Develop and maintain documentation as required
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Interim Secret Clearance required prior to start
- Project Manager will possess a technical IAT-III certification (CASP+ or CISSP)
- At least 14 years job experience in a related field working on technical solutions
- Posses a strong understanding of Engineering in multiple technical areas
- BA/BS degree in an IT discipline, or equivalent, plus proven experience in project management
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly language.
- Experience in effectively influencing and leading personnel and the ability to write business reports in a well-organized manner
- Strong team skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
